How do I figure out my rate per cm²?

Don't worry if this feels new — most artists start with zero idea how to price their work.

The rate per cm² is simply:

"How much is one square centimetre of my art worth?"

You multiply that number by the size of your painting to get the starting price.

Answer these 3 quick questions:

• How long have you been seriously making art?
• Have you sold any pieces before?
• Do people usually say your work looks professional?

Based on your answers, use one of these starting ranges:

• Just starting / Student0.5 – 3.0 NOK per cm²
• Some experience / First sales2.5 – 8.0 NOK per cm²
• Regularly selling / Gallery interest7.0 – 18.0 NOK per cm²
• Well known / Strong demand15.0 – 30.0 NOK per cm²

The calculator will then add your time, materials, and selling costs on top.
